The streets of Paris

BEGIN

While fighting jet lag the first evening, my sister took me to the river Seine for a beautiful sunset picnic.

These are the first few photos I took while in Europe.

The following day we went to Sainte-Chapelle, a gorgeous and timeless royal chapel,
within Palais de la Cité. Sainte-Chapelle is considered among the highest achievements
of the Rayonnant period of Gothic architecture. It was commissioned by King Louis IX of France
to house his collection of Passion relics, including Christ's Crown of Thorns,
one of the most important relics in medieval Christendom,
now hosted in Notre-Dame Cathedral.

It's difficult to appreciate the grandeur of these windows without being there in person.

These two photos showcase the centerpiece: The heavenly father chomping down real hard on a sword.
